The mushroom body has a large brown cap which on occasion 12-25cm in diameter 3 kg in weight. The stem on occasion can reach 15cm in height. Harvested at autum. Taste delicious and can be prepared in various ways.

It has orange or yellow color, and meaty and funnel-shape. It is harvested during summer or early autumn. It emits a fruity aroma, reminiscent of apricots and a mildly peppery taste. European and Asian forms are usually about the size of a thumb.

Morels

Not only is it the best-tasting, the morel is also the easiest to identify and safest to eat of all wild mushrooms. Very fragile and light in colour. Average size is 4-12 cm. The stems and caps of morels are hollow, and the stem is attached at the base of the cap.

This mushroom has a lemony, meaty taste similar to chicken. It has impressive size and vibrant yellow-orange colours. A good tree can yield up to 10-15kg. Chicken of the Woods mushrooms have antifungal, antibiotic and tumor inhibiting properties. It is said that, when taken regularly, Chicken of the Woods mushrooms can be helpful in maintaining good health and defending the body against illness.
